A visit to Yuet Ben is a unique dining experience.
Beijing cuisine is famous for its hundreds of dishes with special flavours that are unmatched by any other cuisine. Northern China is a lot colder then the rest of China, so cuisine from the north tends to be richer and spicier. Cattle is also a lot rarer, so the main meat in the north is lamb, which is represented in our menu
You will be spoiled for choice with our menu. Our most popular dishes are our sizzling platters. Watch whilst our staff gently pushes the food into an incredibly hot iron dish, just for the noise and smoke to leap out of the dish like fire-crackers. This also concentrates the many sauces in the dish, amplifying the smell of the dish. The Crispy Duck and the spare ribs are also worth a try and are deservedly popular
Whilst we do offer standard starters typical of other restaurants, we also offer entirely unique starters, such as Chicken with Mustard and Garlic Salad, or Shallow Fried Beijing Dumplings.
Desserts are provided on a separate menu on request. Try our Toffee Fruits, battered pieces of fruit in a honey and sesame glaze, which becomes light and crispy when you cool it down in water.
We have a licence to sell alcohol, and we are lucky to have an experienced amateur sommelier to guide you should you wish to drink the perfect wine with your meal. We are also lucky in that we have a contact with Alsaciens in France, meaning that we can provide top Tokay or Gewurztraminers as and when we get stock. We also have a fine collection of various New and Old World wines, carefully picked from thousands of wines from Rodney Densem Wines. |
